An 22-year old audiophile and soon-to-be-owner of a prominent record collection (some day...) from the southern parts of Sweden. My main interest in music is all forms of music created by the wonderful symbiosis of MAN+MACHINE.

Right now I'm digging deeper in the crates for raw and dirty electro, however everything cooked with a little soul and intelligence gets my attention :-)

Higher Intelligence Agency, The - Freefloater - 13-Sep-07 02:30 PM
Having listening to this record surely over a hundred times for the last five-or-so years, I still get shocked in awe. The quirky melodies and needle-point rhythm patterns they deploy throughout this "tech-ambient" (dubby at times) journey is indescribable. I'm glad I have gotten my hands on a copy of this!

I also think it has to be noted that this was made in 1995 - some material probably even earlier. This is some high-quality engineering, folks! Think Shulman and Bluetech, 12 years ago - simply amazing.

Bobby and his fellow freethinkers truly stand by their guise of choice - this is The Higher Intelligence Agency at their best.

Link & E621 - Antacid - 19-Feb-07 01:36 AM
Wow, truly amazing. This one of my absolute favorites - the different states of emotion this song takes you through is simply absolutely mindbending. Also, the production quality is top-class as usual (read: GC's 76:14), showing exactly where it came from - Mark Pritchard & Tom Middleton.

Gentlemen, I salute you!

Warp Records - 16-Jun-05 06:58 PM
I have to salute WARP as being the absolute greatest label for electronic music ever. I feel that they really are putting effort into letting experimental artists (such as Autechre, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and likes) do their thing; instead of Other Labels (none mentioned) which seems to push the artists in certain directions of their own interest. It might be very personal (since the vast majority of artists tied to this label are absolute favorites of mine), but that's what it's all about - isn't it?

Various - Warpmart Issue 1 - 16-Jun-05 06:57 PM
I second that. This release is one of the best to reach out of the WARP house; especially track #1 and #2 (by Hecker and Yasunao Tone) - they make a great opening to show just how innovative the electronica scene really can be.
