Reviews & Discussion:
Rock solid debut LP for Kelley Polar and one of the best releases on Environ in recent memory.
Compared to some of his releases as the Kelley Polar Quartet, he shows a stronger italo influence on this release. Here, Kelley breaks out the insanely catchy disco grooves with his wonderful viola playing and vocals. Lets hope this isn't the last we see of him!
superb record, you can see that Skalpel's sound has really matured from thier debut. They continue to mine 60 and 70's polish jazz records for samples, but Konfusion has distinctly darker and more serious sound. Leaving behind the rigid song structures of thier self-titled release also benefits thier sound a lot - the cd feels like one extended groove session. | ||||
Opening using the "whisper song" is genius..
A lot of the tracks Craig selected are very rythmically simple, but the mix is sure to get you moving.
