Aquarius - Drift To The Centre / Wave Forms - 15-May-08 11:34 AM
I think Drift to the centre is an absolutely flawless track, it always gets me going, without fail and ive listened to it at least a hundred times. Its got a very uplifting tone and those pads are absolutely perfect. I love the baby baaaby breakdown with some strange panpipe sounds and then the second drop which has a booming pulsing bassline bordering on jump up! I hope this record is appreciated that it is really as good as it gets...

DJ Rap - Journeys Through The Land Of Drum 'N' Bass - 23-Jul-07 04:30 PM
What a brilliant selection of Intelligent Jungle tracks from some of the mightiest labels of the time. I think every track belongs on this mix, each one has its one flavor and takes your mood up and up and shakes it around. From the warm and fuzzy Eden, to the inward-looking All you wantedbby Skanna, through to the euphoric Spiritual Aura (one of the greatest anthems of this time). By the time this drops into A better place you should be on cloud 9! The mixing can be a bit off at times but considering the amount of tunes Rap had to pile in, and the quality of each one I bet she was just enjoying the ride. And you will too! Magic!

Dom & Roland / Biostacis - Soundwall VIP / Menace (Dom & Roland Mix) - 02-Jan-07 05:35 AM
I dont think i have anything else on vinyl that is as hmm ferocious as this track. When i first heard this track i thought my head was going to cave in. The manic drums and super-low bassline, altough chaos is all around you in this track, give it a really good primeval rhythmn, telling you to either dance like mad or go home now! Yeah, its a do or die track if ever there was one.

Truper, The - Volume 1 - 12-Nov-06 02:33 AM
I think i am actually obsessed with this release from Mr. Parker! The A side is probabely one of the deepest, most intelligent and thought-out pieces of Drum n bass/breakbeat/Jungle tracks i have ever heard. Nice kicks with delays to begin with, wove into a quite mysterious sounding sample that evokes a lots of moods and then the drums kick in with an ah oh oww sample and then the snares pop up with a melodic b line! The track fades into a world of undersea samples with futuristic bleeps in the background and still those relentless and puurfectly times drum kicks. The snares return and the track takes another deep tangent into your mind. Bliss
The same can almost be said for B side - again a well thought out piece that twists and turns and retains the complexity and ballerina-type dexterity as the A side.
Quite awesome to listen to - so i advise you to do so! :)

Photek - Natural Born Killa EP - 06-Mar-06 01:53 AM
Consciousness is the main deal here with its roaring flute and descending b-line matched with punchy beats. For me The Rain also deserves a mention as its shadowed by the above (which also appears on the Platinum Breaks complilation) The intro builds to the vocal and then the rain comes down with some spooky effects and then breaks down into a moody b-line with intermittent bleeps and bongo hits. Darker than dark. Into the 90s stands alone as a much more downtempo affair with an unmistakable bass guitar and similair effects to Consciousness. What a diverse and sublime 12"
