Reviews & Discussion:

Introspection was one of Paul Van Dyk's anthems during late 2003 and early 2004. It's easy to know why after you've heard a track that combines the smooth melodic elements of trance including one of the best breakdown/buildups ever.

Technical note: Although the label says A1 is the Original Mix of Introspection, it is actually Return To Innocence. A1 and A2 are swapped.
This EP contains two of the best tracks from the Animatrix album. Technical Itch's production is unquestionably good and makes for one hard and dark drum and bass track. Junkie XL's version is good enough to ignore the fact that the famous "red pill, blue pill" sample is way overused. Both the Tech Itch and JXL tracks are in collaboration with Don Davis' score from 'The Matrix' which makes both tracks that much better and puts them into a higher calibre of production.
A very interesting progressive production. The samples in this song come from the Ralph Stanley song 'O Death', most recognizable from the 'O Brother, Where Art Thou' soundtrack.
One of Underworld's classic tunes is remixed by Danny Howells into a more progressive house feel with some breaks included. A well engineered remix, but nothing can compare to the original Dark Train Mix as it brings back subtle memories from the movie 'Trainspotting'.
Steal Your Bike can appeal to a wide range of styles. From normal house, to breaks, to progressive house, it's melody line is catchy and provides a fun feel to the track--this underneath some very humourous spoken lyrics.
Melburn could be used as a defination to progressive breaks. From its spacey synth intro and the slow introduction of breakbeats, to its bass and filtered guitar samples make Melburn a very distinctive and recognizable track.
Minilogue - Leloo Apr 21, 2004
The original mix of "Leloo" features a very subtle wap bass line that continues throughout the entire track. It's a well produced progressive track with intertwined vocal samples that creates an relaxed atmospheric presence.
iiO - Smooth Apr 12, 2004
Although it is hard to follow up "Rapture", Iio is again remixed by some of the best producers in the trance and progressive industries. Steve Porter's remix is the definate favourite, with his trademark style of hard driving progressive beats that would fill any dance floor.
