Reviews & Discussion:

The 'Shakra' mix is the best version of this release and was featured on Digweed's Journeys by DJ (Volume 4.) It also appeared on Keoki's Journeys by DJ CD. If you're a fan of the Sasha/Digweed sound then this is a must have (as are both the above mix CDs.) A truly great record though a bit too chilled to cause any dancefloor mayhem.
Goa trance: well, I won't admit to liking it and any self respecting fan of 'electronic' music is probably going to side with me. Still, you are missing out if you don't own this. A haunting melodic track of which I never tire. I bow down to Simon Posford's genius.
Humate - 3 Jan 17, 2004
3.2 is not bad, likewise for 3.3. Most will know 3.2 from its Digweed/Sasha playings and the Bedrock rejig. Most won't know 3.1 and if you're a Humate fan looking for some trancey dancefloor action you'll be hardpushed to find better. Nice. Definitely worth looking for.
The Humate version of this track is okay, but what you really want is the RITM version. It plods along quite nicely, then it gets nicer still and then there's the breakdown. I'm quite a down to earth guy, but the breakdown can only be described as mental. And that's mental in a good way. Improve your life and find this record. Shivers down your spine guaranteed.
I'm not sure what that "I need a man" nonsense is about - though it went down well in clubs - especially the gay/mixed ones of course - and it's quite a fun track. What you really want is Point Zero. This is a cracking trance track. I should point out that this is really worth finding on Seka records as the releases on Flying and Deconstruction do not contain the full 12 minute version which has some great elements towards the end. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
For fans of Sasha and progressive house before it became formulaic and boring (e.g. anything on the "Jackpot" record label.) Well, that's a bit harsh as a couple of their releases were pretty good, but you know where I'm coming from. Quite a low key record, probably not one for the dancefloor, but a wonderful bassline builds up to a great melodic high. If you liked the Renaissance 1 mix collection then you really should get a copy of this. The QAT dub is the best mix.
Soul Odyssey - Rapture Jan 17, 2004
You might think that this record having a remix by Shi-take makes it worth finding given the quality of some of their other work (e.g. the great tracks "Perfect Virtue" and "Don't look back in anger.") However, you won't be buying this record for their wasted effort on the flip side. The original didn't need tampering with, as it's such a fine effort. Recommended to anyone who is a fan of the quality output from Limbo (e.g. the two Limbo releases on the Renaissance 1 collection by Sasha and Digweed). Happy hunting, but you'll have a job on finding this on 12"!
Opal (4) - The Snake Jan 13, 2004
My advice: hunt down the original release of this record if you enjoy progressive/trance music. One of the best records ever made in this genre. Ensure you avoid the remixes which are a crime against the writer/producer of this track. The original is genius. I spent years years looking for this tune - not one second wasted.
