DJ Hidden - The Later After
Dec 15, 2008
I didn't real like Dnb before this album.
I was a great fan of Noel's dark Hardcore productions from his project The Outside Agency, but I didn't real know his other works, so "The Later After" give me the opportunity to know his skills to produce non-hardcore style tracks ... When I had bought it I wasn't sure of my purchase.. The first listen was an exploration of the sound who expected me.... The second listen gave me an idea of the great Hidden's work... From the third listen I fell in love with this masterpiece!! Not the usual DnB album, but a mixture of more darkstep Dnb tracks and some breaks and IDM tracks with an acid or orchestral feeling... Easy to listen and expecially not boring... A real gem for start to like the world of dark and hard DnB...
Mute. - Conveyed In Wordless Detail

This mysterious producer is a genius!I don't know his name but his sound is wonderful!!!
More than the previous release, Mute give a better interpretation of his particular sound... Slow rhythm combined with a lot of glitches and noise effects to create a cool 4 tracks vinyl... All tracks are dark, distorted and experimental: "10.000 Needles" and "Searching Others Of My Kind" have a tech direction, while "Beautiful Decay" is more pumped..."Room 302" is the last track of vinyl: a break/noise/experimental ending... Recomended not for only hardcore lovers....
Promo - The Revolutionist

No one else title is better than "The Revolutionist"...Promo is a real revolutionist and shows different sides of his project.
CD1 has the classical mainstream style of Promo, dancefloor oriented, with a mixture of melodies and effects, while CD2... CD2 is the real gem, the experimental side... Rough production with an industrial touch, these tracks are slow or mid tempo except "Many Styles And Forms" and "Revolutionary Movement" who explore the world of distorted breaks... On the whole a great "revolutionary" work!!! Great work on MIM! Broken Rules shows his ability with a well produced release... Full of energy and effects, "Abstract Dancin'" is perfect for mixing Techno & Hardcore.. Each track has own particularity, but the a1 track "Gigarange" is certainly the best of this vinyl.... This is the real Industrial Hard-Tek!!! | ||||
You can divide the release in 2 parts, 2 interpretations of the "New Deconstruction".. The Stefano Croce's side is the most classical, "Northern Whispers", who seems the older track of the vinyl (in my opinion) and the masterpiece "Time To Disobey": powerful kick, deep bass and a minimal but really cool melody..
The Matteo Delgrano's side instead is more experimental, but also more difficult to understand: only if you are into experimental music you can like it. The speedy "Last Drop In Your Mouth" and the noisy "Insecure Opponents" are the perfect examples of the AP's "New Deconstruction"..
If you want something different, if you have an open mind, if the changes of style is welcome on your ears, you must buy it: I'm an old fan of Armageddon Project but, thanks to my musical taste, I really like this records..
If you are an old fan of AP like me, but don't have an open mind, this is not the release for you.
