Dance Music lover since my childhood, i grown up listening mostly to Dance shows on local radios, discovering 80's groove & electro stuff like Prelude or Emergency records. Then i discovered House Music listening to Dimitri (now "From Paris") on NRJ or RLP on Skyrock/Skydance.
I am also a Prince fan (80's stuff).

WHY do they INSIST on dubs and instrumentals!?

Because it is the sole purpose of this release.
And at last we don't have here the same versions over and over on countless of compilations. This is a terrific job, the work on Dub versions is incredible and was ahead at that time. This is the sound of the Garage late at night, when you take a ride through your mind, slow, low, groovy and dubby.

This is one (if not first) example of Japanese House, in collaboration with several New York producers, following the venue of Larry Levan on DJ tour in Tokyo in 1992. Larry died a few days after, back in NYC and this record is dedicated to him.
It is simply beautiful. What can i say... It is deep & jazzy, smooth & groovy, melancholic & happy.
This is also the beginning of what became the label King Street Sounds.

Been a Prince fan, i bought this LP mainly for the megamix. But what a surprise discovering the Chad Jackson track! If you like old school Hip Hop cut-up this is a must have. Chad (by that time world DMC champion) made this exclusively for DMC, demonstrating his skill & technique brilliantly.

I bought my first Mastercuts compilation in 1994. I was looking for "New Jack Swing 2" that i heard on radio but i fell on "Classic Rare Groove" who meant nothing for me at this time. I decided to buy it anyway & then i feel in love with Mastercuts.
I bought every compilation, waiting for a new one like a child waiting his toy. All this compils are ESSENTIAL, with a superb artwork, top classic & representative tracks, perfectly remastered and in a coherent tracklist position. At first Ian Dewhirst conceived & selected tracks, then guest DJs as Dave Lee or Jazzie B, or journalists.
As all good things come to end end, the end of the "Classic" series was the end of quality imo. CUTS-01 to CUTS-43 are the best if you wanna know the truth about a Dance Music genre.

"Fierce House Mix" is a pretty well done Acid House megamix featuring artists like Armando, Bam Bam, Royal house, Nitro deluxe, etc... while "Everything House mix" is a non-stop various rhythm track.
