Hooj Choons - 19-Jan-09 04:16 AM
Hooj Choons always looked forward to bring quality music without searching for the unique style. Trance, house, progressive who cares ? Only music counts. Label is now history but definitely the most influenced label with artists from different sources. Just buy all the releases from the very first one to the very last one and you'll see. Also pay attention to the hoojman mate who appears on each release. By all accounts this started off as a roughly drawn makeshift logo by Phil Howells Girlfriend. In the early releases this was in crayon. The artwork developed and became more definted with each release. After the 30th or so release the Hooj Man cartoon on the back of each release was inspired by the title on the flip side. We can call this artwork "The Adventures of Hooj Man" Hooj Man, the early years (HOOJ-01-29) Hooj Man, The Teenage Years (HOOJ 30-59) & Cross Over Hooj Man, The Undiscovered Files (HOOJ Albums) Hooj Man, Grows Up (HOOJ 60-89) Hooj Man, Today (HOOJ 90-Now)
Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles - 18-Jan-09 01:05 PM
Sacred Cycles is a legend in its own lifetime. Such a classic tune only needs a remix dustdown if there is something worth saying. These 2 mixes from the Texas based producers definitely have something to say. Prog hero Derek Howell opens up the 2006 remixes with his electro trance melodic mix. All the classic 'cycles' sounds but his signature sound that brings it right up to date. Pete Martin goes moody and deep with some traditional progressive trance... Slow, low and burbling.
Cocoon Recordings - 21-Aug-08 10:26 AM
I always said that I'll never like pure techno music but after hearing several tracks from this stunning label, I changed my mind on all the ways. I think I finally found the techno label suitable for trance and progressive lovers who wanna escape from the current cheesy or mainstream crap for teenagers . Every day music evolves constantly and sound as well returning some genres obsolete or others like new. Soft touch techno means future, even if some keep producing harder, minimal remains the best way to start when you are not "techno" drugged from ages. Coccon describes quality techno music, for its dark side, for its electronic side, for its deep and relaxing side as well. Everything is on it making the style very popular in our clubs.
Planisphere - Solarized - 28-Mar-08 06:29 AM
According to Airwave himself, this mp3 album has been made due to the massive new software equipement now available in the studio. Solarism was first then came Solarized. Solarized is well a fusion between his earlier album "Lektrophony" and the last one "Solarism" hardly released one month before. Some tracks from both album have been remixed, improved or even recreated together under a new hybrid form and the final result looks fine! Each track gives an outline of the new data processing medicine.
Energy 52 - Café Del Mar - 23-Mar-08 02:46 AM
This box contains all remixes from the well known hit "Cafe Del Mar" by Energy 52. The anthem saw the light in 1991 but it didn't win a large success at this time. 5 years later Three'N'One decided to make a remix which will become later a true club killer and a reference. For the common run of people, this remix appears as "original mix" but this is a big mistake. In 1998, Nalin & Kane released their own remix too but this was a failure. In 2003, new talentfull artists like Marco V or J00F entered into the Cafe Del Mar battle and provided each one a new remix. Marco V did it harder while JOOF brought us some kind of crazy psy trance remix. If you want to look further into the release, I also advise Oliver Lieb Remix which sounds completely different. This box is a true collector to keep preciously on your collection.
