Various - A Tribute To John Surman - 29-Oct-05 10:12 AM
Tim Paris demonstrates to perfection with his mix the atmospherics, the mood and the will to search for new exciting sounds and rhythms that are reference to one of UK’s leading saxmen John Surman and major asset to the famous ECM label catalogue . with serene interwoven melodies as well as fresh sounds bytes and mind-altering technical gadgetry strung together by a loose tech-boogie beat. TEKEL’s contribution is the most straight forward: a busy tech-shaker with a scraping bassline and synth lines striking like bolts from the blue. I:CUBE’s take is very delicate with a impromptu grassroots tribal riddim made of handclaps and few percussion paired with layers of intertwined sweet, childlike melodies that are close to stumble over each other and getting drained in echo.expect to be surprised and step into tomorrow!

Dubious - Heavy Hands / Sidesteps / Concrete Tan - 19-Jul-05 03:53 AM
Dubious dives this time into the world of dub influenced groove on the A-side with guitar skanks and Metro Area-esque bass. Biting arpeg gios and polished rhodes lick each other on the B-side with the final cut following in a discordant mix of meloncholy atmospherics and wierd funk put to that NYC disco groove.

Metro Area - Metro Area 6 - 17-Apr-05 10:14 PM
"Honey Circuit" leads off at 45 RPM and spread over a full A-side of wax. Chock full of sonic detail and suspenseful arrangements, this track has the bassline and rhythm to slam the dance floor and the musical hooks to lock in minds, including unusual vocal lines sensually executed by Wanda Felicia. "Rhythm Reel #6" is a deep DJ mix tool that hearkens back to the pioneering rhythm track records that are dear to the duos hearts. Closing the B-side out, "Things Fall" is a midtempo cosmic jam that conveys a chugging, hypnotic groove while maintaining musical twists that will arouse even the most jaded headphone junkie. The jacking rhythm, Detroit-meets-R chords and a horn section led by UK hotshot Graeme Blevins make this track unique, riding the fine line between raw floor function and pure listening bliss. Phonique - X-Attack - 10-Dec-04 05:10 AM
Two of those three 3 tracks are taken from his album "Identification". "X-Attack" is a fresh mixture of different old-school bass salads and some new-school bleep dressing with some tasty beat arrangements beside. This will satisfy hunger on the dancefloor. The flip side has two other delicious bits. "Work Together" feels warm and spheric, like a perfect snack at midnight for all House Music lovers out there and "Robotta" on B2: This sweety makes this EP the ideal company for nights of delightful grooves. Nice chords and a frisky melody brings you in this very light and pleasant mood.

A.D.N.Y.* & Vincenzo - Concrete City - 03-Dec-04 12:05 AM
1st release on this label ,the A side contains a very funky driving tho slightly deep track ,the B side has the killer deep stuff ,"soulmates" is a very relaxed smooth soulful track and "vibes" is kind of a looping deep track with small vocals.
