Llorca - New Comer - 23-Feb-07 01:50 PM
This is one of the very best CDs in my collection. From the rambling of "The Novel Sound" and the emotional rush of "Indigo Blues", to the characteristically French "I Cry" and the warm and flirtatious "My Precious Thing", this album is a rare exercise in good taste. Anyone remotely interested in Future/Nu Jazz should give this album a listen.

Various - Serve Chilled - 11-Aug-05 03:22 AM
The version of The Beat Experience found here (track 10 on the first disc) is different from the one found on Pepe Deluxés debut album Super Sound. The lyrics are different — the version found on Serve Chilled uses a part of John Cages Lecture on Nothing; the lyrics of the version from Pepe Deluxés debut album could be from a different part of this lecture, but Im not sure.

Hed Kandi Records - 29-May-05 04:29 AM
Hed Kandi has done precisely that: commercialized house and downtempo in a very sophisticated way. They were one of the first labels that turned me onto the electronic scene, actually. True, they have their bad moments, but they do maintain good overall quality.

Another thing: their marketing strategy has created such a great aura about their music that people buy even their crappiest comps just to make sure they have all of them (i, for example, have consciously bought one comp — one of the Twisted Discos — that doesnt have a single good track on it).

Shazz - Shazz - 10-Jan-05 02:27 AM
An amazing album. All tracks on this are worth keeping -- all feature jazzy, unrepetitive melodies, and vocals never sound out-of-place. An underappreciated gem.

"Innerside (Lenny Fontana Deep & Horny Remix)" is, in my opinion, the best version of "Innerside". It is, unfortunately, not featured on this version of the album. Youll find it on the "Shazz" album released under Distance Music label. Get that one instead of this.

Madonna - Rain - 03-Jan-05 05:07 AM
Fever (Edit One) is the only reason to buy this record. Its a somewhat hard-to-find remix, and it is well worth the money -- it is a much more danceable, pleasant version than the original. This is, in fact, the version of Fever that was used in the music video for that song (although it was not noted in the video credits).
