Plastikman - 08-Jun-06 12:50 AM
The typeface used for the Plastikman releases, "Uck 'n' Pretty", was designed by Rick Valicenti. The font was originally designed for FontShop's FUSE 4 collection.
ABBA - Summer Night City - 03-Feb-06 03:10 AM
The standout track on this release, in my opinion, is Pick A Bale Of Cotton. ABBA took this old 'negro spiritual song', and gave it their own Swedish disco treatment. Offensive? Probably to some. Hilarious? Absolutely.
Butsch* - Teckno Themes Volume One - 20-Jul-04 10:50 PM
This is one of those records that is just pure perfection from beginning to the end. Everything from straight up hardcore stompers, twisted acid, and breakbeats -- it's all here. A 4 track EP that in my opinion, is one of THE best oldskool records around. My only complaint is that Thomas Butsch never released another record of the same style again. Future releases by him were more in the trance genre oddly enough -- good mind you, but not the same.
Bass Generator - House Is Dead / In My Mind Part 3 - 13-Jul-04 01:20 AM
This would be such a great mash-up record, if it were not for the absolute poor quality of the sound. It's as though the record was mastered using a childs 'Speak & Spell'. This was of course the case for a fair number of releases in this genre from this era, however, this one takes the cake for worst mastering of what would otherwise be a great record.
Destruction Production - Best Mindfuck Yet / What A Rush - 12-Jul-04 07:35 PM
Sadly, this was the only Moving Shadow release from this talented producer. Julian Cobb from Destruction Production went on to found Bogwoppa records, and his releases that are of similar style can also be found on Dance Bass under the guise of such names as Secret Squirrel and DJ Undercover Elephant.
Quality cheeky hardcore tunes. Highly reccomended!
