Supermax - Love Machine - 19-Aug-08 09:45 AM
Kurt Hauenstein aka. Supermax is an outstnding personality in the music business. Hailing from Vienna in Austria he is now living on the island of Ibiza.

Love Machine, this 1979 classic, is a minimal disco gem and still so uniue and modern in its way today.
The single even charted in the USA and was number 96 at the Billboard charts. 1981 Kurt Hauenstein toured the very frist mixed band through South-Africa!
And 1983 Hauenstein was the first European to particaped at the Jamaicain Soundsplash.

Asha* - I'm Gonna Dance / Music Machine (Dedication To Studio 54) - 31-Jul-08 08:24 AM
Asha Puthlis voice is brilliant and so sexy and smooth on both songs here. Personally I like I´m Gonna Dance much more. Not only because the B-Side is called A Dedication to Studio 54. What the fuck. We all know it was the Paradise Garage, dont we?!
Anyway both songs are top Discotunes with a real modern and housey feeling to it. Considering the release date his is an amazing double a-Side record. And because it runs on fourtyfive rpm the sound is still pushing and the bass is pumping. May be this is the first House record in music history. I can not tell.

Equation - The Theory Of Housativity - 09-Apr-08 06:46 AM
God damn, what a tune!
I hammered this one back in 1991. I'll Say A Prayer 4 U is the definitive winner on this nice three tracker here. I must admit I olny listened once to the two tracks on the B side. This is Ronald Burrell at its best and Mister Konders on the mix makes this a real dubby House Music gem. Its kind of rough and smooth on the other hand, its funky and minimal. Just right!
Surely an all time classic to me.

Moments, The - Baby Let's Rap Now - 08-Feb-08 03:27 AM
You would never expect this Soul tune on Sugarhill Records.
Nevertheless it is a classic soul tune, eventhough not very known.
A very rare soul ballad on this fine quality old school record label and worth looking for.
Brilliant and truely soulful male vocals in a mellow and sometimes gospel and doo-wop style plus a relaxing downtempo and funky instrumental. A unique and true quite storm classic for the underground.
And what a wondefull title. Very smart and clever guys The Moments!
