Aphex Twin - Girl/Boy E.P. - 11-Feb-07 03:30 PM
The picture of this release is the grave of his young brother deadborn. Richard has always been frightened by this picture in the saloon when he was a child, a grave with his name on it.
This song's named Girl boy song because Richard said there's songs for girls and songs for boys
Marlow & Delhia - Movin - 18-Nov-06 02:41 AM
A cool house track twice remixed, first by marlow himself, that makes a good minimal house thing, taking a lot from the original version. I peculary like this vinyl because of the fabulous Delhia's voice. I first heard it on Wuzzelbud "KK" by Robag Wruhme (I'm a big Robag's fan)
And then, you have a beautiful minimal remix by Matthias Tanzmann, a deep track very different from the firsts, closed to the Wighnomy's productions. This release is good mostly because of this track.
Robag Wruhme - Wuzzelbud "KK" - 08-Nov-06 01:32 PM
This album is absolutely superb, one of the best minimal music I've ever listen to, precise, dancing, dark. With the beautiful soul track KTB, sang by Delhia, the ambient end, the first track that takes a lot from Aphex Twin's Windowlicker. I'm sure I'm going to listen to this many times again.
Squarepusher - Go Plastic - 08-Nov-06 09:25 AM
When I first listened to this, a few years ago, I didn't know this kind of freak music yet, and I didn't like it, except My Red Hot Car and the beautiful melodic part of The Exploding Psychology. I listened to this again and again, and I began to understand the music. I began to understand that it was the real music, the less boring stuff. Now, I find My Red Hot Car less cool, but The Exploding Psychology and I Wish You Could Talk are the two best tracks I know. And Plaistow Flex Out the best acid-ambient track. The all piece is a chef d'oeuvre, for me the most important album from Squarepusher, my favourite artist for this.
Listen to this in the night, lightless.
Daft Punk - Discovery - 25-Aug-06 07:36 AM
Ok, all in all, it's a great album, light, fresh, easy, with an irreproachable production...
BUT, most people don't know that there's big big samples on it. HarderBFS is the biggest one here. Just listen to the original, "Edwin Birdsong - Cola bottle baby", and you'll understand that Daft Punk is the great swindle of electronic.
But it stays good when it comes with the manga (Interstella 5555) Keep listening
