I-f - Mixed Up In The Hague Vol. 2 - 01-Dec-06 10:17 AM
Please note that Alant1000s above comment isnt completely accurate. This mix hasnt been released until 2006, so it couldnt have been out of press as it wasnt pressed, but available for download only. However, this year (2006), it has been released and is available through the webshop of I-fs online radio station, the Cybernetic Broadcasting System.
J Dilla - Donuts - 16-Apr-06 08:14 AM
Donuts is a 31 track long soul drenched hiphop collage that might appear fragmented upon first listen, but turns into a really coherent album when played more often. Catchy hooks and psychedelic noises follow eachother in a high pace, without the album losing its flow. Dilla takes hiphop to a higher level. A great legacy of an extremely talented producer, that unfortunately died on a very young age. Well recommended for anyone into (instrumental) hiphop, but also a must have for lovers of Detroit house in the Andres or Moodymann style.
Oasis (3) - Oasis Collaborating - 13-Apr-05 11:27 AM
Great album by Omar-S and the mysterious Shadow Ray. Combining the housegrooves of Omars work under his own name with a more technoid, Basic Channel-like atmosphere, Oasis creates the deepest housetracks to come out of Detroit since Theo Parrish.
I-f - The Man From PACK - 31-Oct-04 03:51 AM
Incredibly deep album, that starts off with the vocoder driven groove of Secret Desire but quickly dives into deep, spaced out electronix. Very minmal rhythms, raw analogue bass, synths and effects make this typical westcoast electronix on one hand, but I-f takes all ingredients to create something completely unique. Not aimed at the dancefloor, but one to listen to in the dark. A soundtrack to a trip trough deep space. An album that takes electro into another dimension. One of my all time favourite records, without a doubt.
