Reviews & Discussion:
Rabbit In The Moon - Deeper / Dusk
Mar 09, 2009
Dusk begins with a really great theramin sound that T. Confusious would perform live, then progresses to perc/kick stabs before dropping the full beat. The melody starts about a 1/4 of the way in, then the breakdown drops about half way. Some tribal chants come in, then a really tight breakbeat. The track builds up in the same general idea, then breaks down once more before the outro.
Deeper or 'Please' as the main sample says, is much more meloncholy, to quote the first review. Begins with a break, then drops into a straight beat about a 1/3 through. Then the track breaks down, introducing a new melody, and builds back into a James Brown break. Builds to final break down, then ends in pads & arpeggiated acid. Also, on my copy, 'Dusk' is printed as 'Dusv' in sign language. | ||||
On the other hand, Freak To The Beat is total breakbeat hardcore, sounds like it should have come out on some little known imprint in the Uk. Matches side-by-side with tracks like 'Total Xtc' by Krome & Time, 'Right Before' by First Project, and 'Trip To The Moon, Pts. I & II' by Acen.
In my book, one of the best Hallucination releases ever.
