Conrad Schnitzler aka CON* - Live '72 Dec 01, 2011 (edited 5 months ago)
Track 5 seems to be an excerpt of "Bis Die Blaue Blume Blüht" of "Grün" from 1981. Anyway, cool collection, focussing on the repetitive side of Schnitzler.

Who else on this planet will turn popular music into Polka tunes?

Eläkeläiset could be interesting for you. They call it "Humpa" instead of "Polka" but it's pretty much the same.
While listening also Pink Floyd and theremin-driven science fiction movie scores came to my mind. The music here is just to dynamic to be real ambient. The ufo on the cover says it all: It's a space opera (with kind of a prog rock feel, but without any "rock", song structures, guitars or beats) to dream yourself far into space. Maybe in a way Pink Floyds "The Dark Side Of The Moon" or "Wish You Where Here" do, just less pop-like but more abstract. The last track "Valgusõis" made me even think of a slow motion version of deeper Detroit Techno like Model 500's "Deep Space". Just saying, because Grünberg later did some real new age music, and this record isn't new age at all.
Jeff Buckley - Grace Apr 19, 2011
So, what about the new copy? Also noisy?
Frank Zappa Apr 15, 2011
Why is the chronic order of the releases all wrong? "Freak Out!" released 1985? "Just Another Band From L.A." 1990? Weird.
You also could understand the phrase "on the corner" musically. The music is placed on the corner where jazz and funk meet, free improvisation and repeated riffs, virtuosity and childish noise making, solo playing and group playing. And like a street corner, it doesn't stay static there but all the elements are passing by and interacting with each other.

True To Life from Roxy Music - Avalon spends most of the backround of Life's A Gas. What did I win???? :)
