Just to clarify - Technique essentially IS Client. The singer, Xan, backed out right before the European tour opening for Depeche Mode. Kate Holmes (Alan McGee's wife, formerly of Frazier Chorus) asked Sarah Blackwood (of Dubstar fame) to fill in for the tour. It was on the tour that they clicked with Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode, who signed them as Client to his Toast Hawaii label.
