Profile: - I will not sell any records since selling is generally an annoying pain. I might be willing to swap if you have something I'm really interested in.
- I may buy off eBay or privately, so please feel free to contact me if you're selling something on my wantlist.
- I do not do MP3's so don't contact me about them. EVER.
I've been DJ'ing since 1993, and currently produce D&B, downtempo and ambient tracks under the name Sublight. I've recently started to do soundtrack and audio work for films through my production firm, Stylusnation.

Various - Firewalker / Automation / One Technique / Vellum - 16-Sep-08 09:54 PM
Partly a product of its era (that is to say, the wastelands of late 90's Drum n' Bass, Techstep, etc. which were characterized by a retreat from the more upfront or soulful tunes of '94-'96), this 1998 release suffers from relatively lackluster programming and uses many typical tricks of the period. This wouldn't be so bad, but unfortunately the sonic quality of the production is also relatively flat. Darkness' "One Technique" stands out as the strong track of the record, but sadly still falls flat for its use of a painfully over-rinsed kung-fu movie sample.
Loud Beat - Voodoo Ppl - 27-Feb-08 06:23 PM
With the dearth of bootleg mashups & remixes coming out these days, it's getting harder to find records of this type that are both well-produced and innovative. Without being too harsh, I think the world could go on just fine without another Prodigy remix, and in this case a middling one. The producers have taken a dynamic original that had a lot of depth, energy and intensity (and a really stunning breakdown) and sadly created something a bit on the static and colourless side. Sure, there's plenty of action in the track, but there's not a lot of depth to the mix either in sonic or creative terms. The saving grace for the release is the floor friendly treatment of "Sex Is Not The Enemy" which, while not a stunner, is plenty fun and is certain to get people moving on the dance floor.
Pueblo - Pueblo E.P. - 17-Feb-08 11:52 AM
This is an odd one - flicking through it quickly at the record shop, the first impression is of a floaty laid back Sunday morning breaks set - especially if you start with side B. "Lo-Go" makes me think of what would happen if Lenny De-Ice's "We are IE" met up with Jonah Sharp's "Sea Biscuit" and [insert generic '92-'93 soulful house track] after a long night of raving and imbibing at an after-party hosted by the Hardkiss Brothers in 1994. But the real treat is "Connection", which breaks out of the EP's mold - where the other tracks are stuck in a bit of a chill rut, "Connection" is a fun(k)-filled slice of Apache break, horns and guitars fronted by an electric piano and some well-matched vocal samples. Nothing too complex, but hey, some of the best breaks tracks ever have been pretty straightforward.
Bob Marley - Soul Almighty - The Formative Years Vol. 1 - 20-Jun-06 12:24 AM
Marley purists & fans - be forewarned, this is a terrible album and an insult to the memory of Bob Marley in the form of utter cheese music with Bob's great vocals appropriated and slapped on top. I bought it hoping for much more, so the least I can do is warn other Discogs users about how terrible it is - think Jan Hammer meets Bob Marley - both great on their own, but 80's sounding MIDI-style half-step just doesn't work with Bob's voice or these classic tunes. What a disappointment.
Epoxies, The - 19-Jan-06 11:42 PM
I finally saw The Epoxies play last night in Calgary, and I have to say that they put on one hell of a show. Dressed pretty much like the cover of "Stop The Future", with laser pointers attached to their guitars and an amusing Epoxies sign made out of christmas lights that strobed with the music, they played an incredibly energetic and fun set, including a track they debuted live that night. New Wave lives on in greater ways than ever, thanks to to this insanely fun band.
