One of Roy Davis Jrs best and most-underrated records. Contains the original version of the very beautiful "Michael". Each of the tracks on this EP hint at Roys spirituality through the track titles and gospel-tinged vocals. "Soulful" in the truest sense of the word!

The Azuli Choice compilations are a good entry point for anyone wanting to know more about the roots of dance music. This is probably the best of the bunch so far - Frankie Knuckles taste is impeccible and every track here is a classic in the true sense of the word. Recommended.

Miles has to be considered as one of the most forward-thinking and cutting-edge musicians of the 20th century. Purists may label Coltrane (post-Miles band) as the true innovator, but it was Miles who revolutionized jazz in the 1940s with Birth of the Cool and proceeded to set trends in popular music for the next 40-odd years. The band he recorded with throughout the 60s (Ron Carter on bass, Tony Williams drums, Wayne Shorter on sax, Herbie Hancock on keys) has to be one of the tightest units ever to play together. Studio albums like Miles in the Sky, In a Silent Way and Water Babies are incredible.. but the live albums from his band during this era are really where its at.

Kind of Blue - my all-time favourite album.

The Mills mispress record sounds like it was recorded in his New York/Limelight phase after he left Underground Resistance in 1992. Hard-hitting techno ala Waveform Transmissions Vol 1.
