Sensor (5) - Naked - 03-Mar-09 03:20 AM
"Born in Russia in 2005 thanks to an idea of Ilya Pavlov (vocal, keyboards), Andrey Smayev (drums, programming ), Dmitriy Kozlov (guitar, synthesizers, back-vocal) and followed soon by Alexey Bogatkov (bass guitar), Sensor is the first pop release for Intuition Records. Gathering the best mood of the 80s music, the band is promoted as a mix of Frankie Goes To Hollywood and U2. Well, listening to NAKED I might hazard that they are more than that. More than a copy of the best mood of a decade. Ilya Pavlov is able to make you remember INXS, The Sound, Echo & The Bunnymen (like on the opening "Naked") and Frankie Goes To Hollywood but playing their tunes with an energy that the original bands didnt have. The modern synth arrangements help a lot into refreshing the sound and will make you understand that the band only wanted to use the best melodic ideas to pack a debut album that will astonish every lover of those sounds. On the short "All I get is..." the band is able to change mood and to write a song that will make you remember the smooth sounds of This Mortal Coil just to push the gas pedal on the following "Static" where a funky bass introduce a strong energetic tune. Good record indeed!"

Tombstone - 23-Sep-07 01:19 AM
Tombstone was one of the most original and most misunderstood formation on dark industrial scene. Heavy influenced by Italian gothic-horror movies and utilized old analog equipment, digital effects, field recordings and tape recorders Emanuele Lago compose perfect soundtrack-like music full of harsh noises, samples from old horror movies and nightmarish atmosphere. Tombstone (and side projects) released many tapes on Emanuele own label Psychotic Release and just one proper CD compiled from the best tracks on Cold Meat Industry side label Death Factory which was limited to only 1500 copies. In late 90s Italian label Anaemic Waves Factory reissued some tapes on limited CDr and released new album Under A Bloody Veil (on limited CDr as well). Highly recommended to all who really into horror industrial music and gothic movies.
Love Is Colder Than Death - Teignmouth - 01-Sep-07 03:38 AM
I think it was the best album LICTD ever made. Perfect blend of dark wave / gothic elements with slightly touch of medieval music. Sometimes raw and naive, but perfect! Highly recommended!
Wolf (5) - Generator 11 - 29-Jan-07 10:09 AM
This CD is nothing to do with The Tors Of Dartmoor style! On his solo album Wolf brought us weird mixture of avant-rock , industrial noises, black metal-like riffs and growlings, dark atmosphere and even jazzy tunes! Incredibly strange and surreal, but worth attention for those who tired of mainstream stuff!
Arts And Decay - Shadowjesus - 01-Aug-06 07:14 AM
Shadowjesus is the best Arts & Decay album i heard. Less gothic and more alternative rock with lots of additions from ethno and orchestral. The music is very melodic and melancholic sometimes. Reminds me (a little bit) of The Cure of the same period. Highly recommended!!!
