I'm Not A Gun - Our Lives On Wednesdays - 08-Nov-04 01:21 PM
Because DJ-ing is a such great passion to me, I'm constantly busy with house and related dance genres. Except for sunday evenings, no beats, just atmospheric, emotional postrock and electronica. Time to chill in a sofa with "Duyster", a program on Studio Brussel (Belgian 'alternative' radiostation). It's on this program I heard about "I'm not a gun". Man, I really got in a kind of cloudy emotional mood when I heard a song from the cd "Our Lives on Wednesdays", so beautiful. The bigger was my surprise when Ayco (she presents Duyster) told that driving force behind "I'm not a gun" was... John Tejada!!! (Off course together Takeshi Nishimoto) I couldn't believe my ears, kind of felt like the circle was round. Respect!!!

Kosmic Messenger - Eye 2 Eye - 05-Sep-03 07:48 AM
Absolute classic... No more can I say than, this is one of the reasons I started listening to Techno. I had it on a tape of Stacey Pullen's DJ Kicks, which was my first experience with techno. I spent a long time looking for this one, and finally (after more than two years) I got it... So glad!!!

Milk Inc. - 04-Sep-03 03:24 PM
Back in the days, Belgium was famous for it 's innovating sounds in the techno and new beat scene, with R as most important label, even on a world scale. This was a real honour I guess. Milk Inc. is also Belgian, but it isn't something to be very proud of, I'm afraid. To my opinion, their music is very easy to make, even a child could sit back after his pc, and with the easiest music producing software, it can make these cheesy poppy sounds. I'm a bit ashamed when I hear this stuff. I'm glad that people who know what they 're talking about, do not take this genre for real. This kind of 'music' could never have been the intention of the Belleville Three, when they started experimenting to innovate techno 15 years ago...
On the other hand, it's an evolution from underground to mainstream, and that is something no one could withdraw...

Depeche Mode - The Singles 81 > 85 - 04-Sep-03 11:12 AM
Very good LP, I can not get enough of it. Look at the releases of the singles: '81 to '85... It's unbelieveable, which synthesizer sounds they 've used. Today still used to produce most techno-, drum 'n bass-, electro-, ... tracks. This was future but, nowadays it's way not even passed. Some things never die!

Autotune - Player's Stuff E.P. - 07-Mar-03 04:41 AM
Nice E.P., I guess with a real hit potential. What I think is weird, I found it by coïncidence. There are just very few pressings of it? And just when I feel that this track could be as succesful as, for example, Fantasize from Rob Mello ft. Cecile. Or, do I see this wrong. To me, it really jumped out between all other stuff I was listening that day in the shop... Really catchy, thumbs up for Autotune!!!
