Andy On The Eve - Melodies Of Passion - 12-Jul-06 01:25 AM
Melodies of Passion believe it or not, was released back in 1991, which in my opinion was 10 years or so ahead of its time. Today, it still sounds like maybe a recent release chart style trance tune, but full credit must be given to the producer who had his sights set firmly in the future when recording this.I wouldn't mind an insight into what he may be creating now.
Master Minds - E.M.F. - 05-Jul-06 06:05 AM
EMF in my own opinion is one of the very best tracks from the Mackenzie. The track leads off in the usual trancey sort of style and then the vocal shout kicks in with "Ecstasy...Motherf**ker...Motherf**ker" and all hell breaks loose with screeching synths of all pitches as the beat pounds on - a definate hit in my eyes. If your a technohead and you don't own this track you can do no wrong in buying this i tell you!
Ultra-Sonic - Obsession - 06-Aug-05 08:44 AM
If my memory serves me correctly from the "Okay Edinburgh are you ready to turn it up" - this was recorded from their first gig at the Calton Studios Edinburgh - pretty sure the event was called Adrenalin (the flyer was a rip off of the lucozade isotonic drink label that was around at that time) - I was there that night and the sound although a little dated now - was fresh and new at time and absoultely rocked the gaff!
Chosen, The - Visions Of Life EP - 02-Mar-05 03:48 PM
If you heard this on a DJ mix tape back in the days you would be mistaken for it being a remix of Ray Love's Robin wants revenge (as I did!). It samples the well renouned RWR bassline - but this has an excellent rushy synth break and a detroit techno drum pattern which was garaunteed to get a w.t.f!!! out of the crowd if you like your detroit - you'll want this!!
Psycho Team - Bolero - 25-Feb-05 01:36 AM
This was a big tune for me in the day - I have only just managed to get this IDed - as I had it on a promo white label megamix for years unknown - love the high pitched sax break in the tune and can picture in my mind a club full of of like minded people giving it the old hands in the air. This is what music is all about!
