Loco Dice & Ricardo Villalobos - In The Mix - Green & Blue - 19-Sep-09 10:19 AM
Not sure if my previous reviewer is aware of the fact that these were both live recordings. Ricardo played a 6 hours set, Dice played for 3 hours. Both CDs are an extract of the artists performing in front of almost 10.000 people. It is in the nature of a live recording that the situation is completly different than in a studio as both DJs do things they would probably only do in a studio situation. The spontaneous became life, reactions of the crowd was responded to and incorporated in the mix.

Jay Haze - Fabric 47 - 28-Jul-09 07:59 AM
I receive the monthly Fabric CDs in my mailbox since 6 months and so far, found the vast majority of the mixes quite mediocre (except Claude von Stroke and LTJ Bukem). So honestly I didn't expect much of a change with Jay Haze. However, this mix is by far the best one I've heard in the Fabric series since the Carl Craig one, as it takes you on a eclectic journey from RnB tinged Afrohouse over experimental Minimal to lush and dubby minimal house. A true journey from A-Z in (North American) house and definitely something else for the Fabric series.

Various - Minimize To Maximize - 13-Jun-07 07:33 PM
Given all the hype around m_nus I was extremly dissappointed with this release and found it hard to listen some tracks until the end. Most tracks are stripped down to 2 or 3 percussive elements that crawl the note scala up and down ("Circles" & "Uno") and that's about it the whole 5-6 minutes. I can't remember such extremly dull listening however I'll keep checking out other m_nus stuff and hopefully will find some more appealing music. I wish they would have some Theorem releases again as I find the collabs series on m_nus thx is some of the finest spheric minimal music ever created.
