Profile: Jon was introduced to house music during his freshman year of college at the University of Florida at the renowned Simons in Gainesville, Florida. This renewed a passion in DJing that Jon once had in high-school, spinning hip-hop music. Within a couple months, Jon was introduced to a promotion duo from Miami, known as DNA Productions and soon thereafter, Jon became DNA's first resident house DJ, playing at numerous events including: Technobabble 1-3, Fusion, Wonderland 2, Usuaya '97, ERA Muisc Festival, and Solaris along such talent as Cosmic Baby, Keoki, Medway, DJ Three, Taylor, Phil K, Christopher Lawrence, Terry Mullan, DJ Dan, Uberzone, and Symbiosis. Jon was a mainstay on KISS 105.3s weekly "Perimeter" show and contributed numerous guest mixes for www.trancedomain.com. During the next year Jon took over as resident DJ and promoter for a weekly house night at the Full Circle & Down Lo nightclubs in downtown Gainesville.

During 2001, Jon returned to Orlando and not very long after moving, Jon was booked as the resident DJ at club Aftermath in Clearwater as well as the AKA Lounge in Orlando. Things would continue to go well as Jon began Vanguard Promotions with partner Rob Dowell and were soon booked for guest spots at Simons to fill in for residents Joe C., Kyle Hogan, and Boyd Westerman. This would eventually lead to Jon & Rob to their own monthly night at Simons. "Pure" Fridays at Simons were a success with a very loyal following that brought life back to one of the most successful underground nightclubs ever. More opportunities continued after Simons' renovation closing in late 2002. Jon did numerous guest mixes for Orlando's 96.9 Foundation Radio, landed gigs in New York and Atlanta, and continued with bookings at Simons and Vibe in Gainesville.

Jon relocated to Atlanta at the end of 2003 where he is continuing his passion for DJing. With bookings for numerous clubs including: Crescent Room, Aiko, Lava, The Mark Ultralounge, 1150, Georgia Tech's 91.5 WREK Radio, and numerous guest mixes on Habersham & Numinous's ProtonRadio.com Blueprint show.

Jon will be a resident DJ at one of Atlanta's newest clubs, Fever, opening in 2006.

Ian Ossia And Nigel Dawson - Renaissance Presents... Volume 1 - 12-Jun-06 06:19 AM
With this being the first (and only to date) Renaissance commercial release for Ian Ossia & Nigel Dawson, they certainly put in a great effort. With an impecible track selection and flawless mixing, this is one of my favorite Renaissance mixes yet. Disc 1 starts with a perfect intro track and from there transitions between classic trance, progressive house, tribal, and even ends with a few great breakbeat tracks. Disc 2 begins very atmospheric and light but by track 5, Nigel has broght in some of the best peak time tracks from 97-98. The section of tracks 5 - 10 on Nigel's disc will rival any other top mix (Sasha's GU009, Renaissance Ibiza by Deep Dish, etc). For those who enjoyed Paul Oakenfold's GU007 New York, this matches the track selection and blows away the mixing.
