Bob Sinclar - Paradise

Pluton & Humanoids - World Invaders

I can't be bothered to flip it to the instrumental side - the vocals on this track MAKE it very enjoyable. Chorusing using vocoders gives it that much more of a atmospheric soundscape. Though the vocals go a bit off tune with each other, it makes this song that much more interesting. I've posted a video recording of the vinyl on my youtube channel (look up user discorecords). If you can, try to find this great single to add to your collection!
Dead Milkmen, The - Big Lizard In My Backyard
Sep 05, 2007
I wouldn't list this as a 'Rock' album moreso than a Punk album - with a lot of cynicism and tongue-in-cheek attitude. Very offensive for some, but I found it to be funny in a cool 'Weird Al' sort of way (except the Dead Milkmen write their own music). My favourite song Bitchin' Camaro lyrics include: "My folks bought me a bitchin' Camaro with no insurance to match, so if I happen to run you down, please don't leave a scratch!". Check this album out!
Ray Martinez And Friends - Lady Of The Night / Hey Honey, Come Give Me Money

Lady Of The Night / Hey Honey, Come Give Me Money makes me feel sexy, and I'm not a woman. A great long mix of three songs. The original 'Hey Honey...', then a 4-minute instrumental bridge merging into 'Come Give Me Money' which really morally takes you down into the sewer. SUCH a great melody; the violins and funky guitar riffs make this a personal favourite. Dance on!

Mustafa - I Feel Good Things For You / Circles

"I Feel Good Things For You" = gay house...and happy too! Very uppity, great variety of mixes (though the ORIGINAL mix is the one that the clubs played the most).
A nice surprize to find "Circles" on the same release. Natalia's voice is smooth and easy to sing along with. This is more simple and deeper than "I Feel Good Things For You".
Brilliant album! Full of funk, soul, passion and squeaky-clean vocals to put you in the right mood to dance. It surely puts me in the mood for love!
My favourites include: 'Yougotmeup' [116.7 BPM] is a quick 01:50 but man does it open the album well. Very well produced piece of work here! 'Multiply' [111.2 BPM] has a 60's soul feel to it, tamborine in the background driving the tune with Jamie's grinding vocals in the foreground forcing you to shake yer ass and smile. 'What's the Use'. [96.1 BPM] Great 2/2 time song. Jamie sounds great, hitting all ranges of a classic soul singer. Slow Mo-town feel. 'Game For Fools' [119.9 BPM] A slow, sad-sounding tune - blues influenced. "..first moment you hesitate...better ask yourself why. don't you wake up till it's too late...something inside has died." This album is a TRUE R
3 tracks - typical ae static noise. meh, see above on details for the tracks.
i bought this for the DVD. 3 videos on the dvd - wonderful to add to any ae fan's collection. the gantz_graf video is made up of CGI polys on a silver cylindar gyrating all over the damn place in sync with each noisy flutter coming from the track. the bass_cadet video goes way back to 1994. i didn't care for it too much - it looks like a student arranged computer ladybug flying about in a dark computerized space. very boring. second_bad_vilbel, however, is a CLASSIC. firstly, directed by Chris Cunningham. secondly, it's creepy! it's absolutely creepy - a mechanical living organism of some sort barely being made sharp enough for the viewers to understand what it is and what it's doing. this is painfully intoxicating.
I'm sorry, but for a release as wonderful as this I have no doubt in my mind that Ben Jacobs is a genius.
Children At Play is 12 minutes, 55 seconds. It starts off with a trinket-type theme, quickly turning to electronically jumbled madness. There is a strong influence of jazz in the entire track, and half-way through there is a strong feeling of synthesized madness as the climax is reached. This madness is composed of the song being meshed into a blender of triple time breaks. This is one of my favourite tracks of all time. Flip it over and you have CLIVE'S FOLLY, which is 12 minutes and 11 seconds of melodic happiness. It doesn't even compare to Side A, but it's still worth a good listen or two. | ||||
I consider this an essential album for the underground house music that pushed me to explore other great artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath, Cassius, Magda, Phats & Small.
