DMA2 - 01-Sep-06 06:57 PM
DMA2 not only was a cassette and record label, but also organised many concerts in Bordeaux, France, during the eighties and early nineties. They were especially known for their annual « Divergences/Divisions » festival, that was one of the most important industrial music festival of the eighties in Europe (with « Berlin Atonal »). It has featured: 1984: Anne Gillis, DDAA, Die Form, Étant Donnés, Ptôse, Un Département, Yuca Ferdanzen (all from France); 1985: Bernard Nguyen (France), Legendary Pink Dots (UK), Le Syndicat / ORA / Pacific 231 (France), Nocturnal Emissions (UK), Non Toxique Lost (Germany), Pascal Comelade & Bel Canto Orchestra (France), Such Interesting People (Belgium); 1986: Anthon Shield & DZ Lectric (France), Das Synthetische Mischgewebe (Germany), DDAA (France), Esplendor Geometrico (Spain), Fâlx Çèrêbri (Germany), Laibach (Yougoslavia), Sol Dièse & Phil Gaz (France), Vivenza (France); 1987: Ghédalia Tazartès & Alain Rigout (France), Hervé Diasnas (France), Joan La Barbara (US), Natural Disasters (Hungary), Paul Panhuysen & Johan Goedhart (Netherlands), Test Dept (UK); 1988: Anne Gillis (France), Bourbonese Qualk (UK), Étant Donnés (France), Greater Than One (UK), The Hafler Trio (UK), In The Nursery (UK), Laibach (Yougoslavia), Von Magnet (France), Z’ev (US); 1989: Con-Dom (UK), G.X. Jupitter-Larsen & Masami Akita (Canada/Japan), The Haters (Canada), Merzbow (Japan), Natural Disasters (Hungary), Nox (France), THU20 (Netherlands), Vox Populi! (France). On other occasions, DMA2 also organised many concerts of artists such as Club Moral (Belgium), Die Tödliche Doris (Germany), The Grief (France) and others. DMA2 front man, André Lombardo, had a weekly radio show, « Inhibition 93 », on a Bordeaux-based local radio station, La Vie Au Grand Hertz (or La VAGH), 99.2 Mhz. Both DMA2’s « Inhibition 93 » radio show and « Divergences/Divisions » festival have been responsible for my progressive interest in industrial, post-industrial and experimental music.

Terre Blanche - 09-Apr-05 07:09 AM
Memento : At the end of the eighties, Terre Blanche (like other bands released on the AWB Recording label) was known as one of the most fascist and racist bands of the (post-) industrial music scene. Some music distributors (like V2) decided to boycott them and several musicians took position against the fascist plague in that scene, like Frans De Waard and PBK who co-released the "Anti White Bastards" compilation tape.
