DJ Massive - Everybody Feel It
Apr 14, 2008
I honestly can't believe this isn't a sought after tune. It's an absolutely massive banger that Kid Bippy played in almost every live set for years. If you don't know who that is, he's the bloke who made those Breakbeat Prototype mixes. This tune is on two of those Breakbeat Prototype old skool mixes. It's well produced, and stands the test of time far better than most tunes from that era. For collectors of this genre, this is definitely not a tune to sleep on.
Santos & Sabino - La Ra Ra Ri (Canzone Felice)
Dec 10, 2007
Based on the title of this record, you'd think everyone in the world would have been smart enough to not buy it, correct?
Wrong. I am just that stupid, but am thankful that I have a support group of 4 other people who were just as mentally challenged when they also thought it might be a good idea to waste money and 12"x12"x1/8" of space on this horrible, horrible, horrible awful attempt at making music. My excuse is that there is a Stretch N Vern remix, and SnV was on an incredible hot streak at the time, but my therapist says the first day I can stop making excuses for this poor purchase is the first day that I can move on with the rest of my life.
2 Live Crew, The - Pop That Pussy
Dec 10, 2007
This is an absolute sonic masterpiece. Transcending the bounds of ordinary human thought, these audio waves will unlock the potential of humankind.
Similar to Wyld Stallyns in the future, Pop That Pussy brings forth feelings of inner peace that extends outward towards all living creatures. War will end, people won't even punch each other for fun. Famine will cease, everyone can eat tacos until they pass out. And the world's mysteries will be revealed, we will know exactly how Stonehenge was built, and the address of Area 51.
Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band - Bongo Rock

Apache is that one song that you couldn't possibly get tired of hearing. It's the one song that no matter where it plays, be it a supermarket, cafeteria line, yoga class, math test, or wherever, that will even lift the flattest of feet. I hope I never hear this at a urinal or I'll accidentally piss on my shoes while uncontrollably busting some uprock.
Other than being the b-boy national (now international) anthem, it's just a damn fine song, and one that is all too often overlooked whenever your favorite message board has a poll for the top 100 albums or songs of all time.
For those of you who think the repress is sufficient, think again. They didn't actually put Metrix Remix on the repressing, it's Signal Generator, which is rubbish. Metrix Remix is easily one of the best tunes to ever come out on Basement, but highly underplayed. It uses the same sample from Spoonie Gee - Love Rap that Moby used for Bodyrock and has subbass that rocks the warehouse so hard that you could still drop it today. | ||||
