Krumelur - Paramoral - 05-Mar-07 11:51 PM
Oh wow this is a very good album, especially the opening track "The Plan (kick it)" - i played it on 2 parties now and there seem to be no people that do not like this. This music comes from the "progressive" corner but not progress trance, more like slowed down psychedelic trance, very deep and very sensual. Krumelur is very creative in arranging sounds and they use the parametric equalizers a lot, creating ultra-fat sounds a bit like the old acid TB sounds but used in a modern way. Try to buy it, its worth every cent.

F.U.S.E. - Dimensions - 11-Dec-06 05:39 AM
F.U.S.E. (Futuristic Underground Sound Experiments)
"Dimensions" is a true masterpiece of ambient techno. It's a typical Ritchie Hawtin production that takes you away to some place inside your mind where the outside world does not exist. It's a downbeat track with mild sounds, excellent for mixing or for introducing a more solid Hawtin track.

The flipside ("Into the space") offers a weird experimental track, a techno-bass with some strings but no kick or other leading drum elements, which makes it perfect to mix trough any type of tech/trance. On it's own it's a bit skinny.

Even though this is a red vinyl, it's pretty tough and doesn't scratch easy at all (not that i have tried that!), i just mention it because some colored vinyls have a way of deteriorating quickly, well, this one doesn't.

Cosmosis - Do It! (Remix) / In Yer Face Pt. II - 08-Dec-06 11:50 AM
My copy of this 12" is also pressed on purple vinyl. The A-side contains the remix of "Do It!", a track that got remixed again on the later to be released TRA051 as "Do It! (Teutonic Technoid Remix)" (in my view the TRA046 version is MUCH better then the teutonic rmx). The flipside contains "In Yer Face Pt. II". For me its always rewarding to mix the "Do It!" on this release with the A-side of TRA051 ("Doors of perception")- in fact mixing any cosmosis into another cosmosis is always a lot of fun, the tracks still appeal today as they did when they were released.

Hypnotist, The - This Is My House - 05-Dec-06 09:42 AM
In all the hail mary's and praise and glory for "this is my house" people should not forget that for some DJ's (like myself), the B-side of this excellent 12" is at least of the same calibre as "this is my house". The track "Pioneers of the warped groove" is the best track of 1991 imho. The track starts with some strings (hollywood style with operavoices) and a movie sample going: "you wanna go for a ride? - No thanx - What does that mean no thanks? - I dont wanna go - Go where? - For a ride - A RIDE, what a great idea, LETS GO" --- later followed by "party...party people ... " "LET US PRAY" followed by the main bassline, a very good bassline and ahead of its time. It grabs you and drags you across the dancefloor. Its a brooding dark and mysterious track with great breaks, of which LET US PRAY must be the most well known, or maybe: "This will be with you In time, In time....".
These days it should really be played on (45rpm) +3 or +4 depending on the party and its visitors, to get the same rush as "we" had in 1991 when it was released.
Any serious DJ should consider getting a dayjob if this record is not in the collection ;)

Age - Trope - 04-Dec-06 09:32 PM
Very fat Acid bass lines and the usual TB sounds. This one works (mixes) very good with Teste - The Wipe, Drei Phase - Der Klang, or The Martian - Sex in zero gravity. There seems to be some sort of acid-related string connecting these tracks. Very good.
