Aequinoxium is the sound of Deepchord finaly trancending their obvious influences. 14 mins of what can only be described as a gloriously melodic tropical thunderstorm. All humidity & relief. They've finaly taken that 'Basic Channel' shaped cloak that's been thrown at them & turned it into a rather lovely, well tailored jacket. Or something.

'Don't Judge The Silence' is utterly majestic. So lovely is this track. Built around 2 chords, an 120bpm sampled breakbeat & some improvised analogue strings [played live by the sounds of it] this track is SERIOUSLY more than the sum of it's parts. A really beautiful mood captured with sublime simplicity. . . . . .

Alpah & Omega is a bit of a masterpiece. Forget all the hidden subliminal / sub-religious baggage that often accompanies BOC tracks. The groove in this is unreal. I've played it about 15 times this week . . . . .

This William Orbit mix is definately a stormer. No bones about it. Everything about it is perfect. A true masterclass in how to create the perfect dance [!] record. I still wet myself at the bit where the guy says 'Maximum Bass' & the 303 kicks in. Trippy, funky, & most of all, a lot of fun . . .this mix has so much momentum, it could utterly destroy a club with no effort whatsoever. To say you need this record is an understatement [& you can still pick it up for pennies] . .. . . .

Absolute masterpiece. This is serious cut up funk. Apparently created using 49 records & an old school mix tape [and one of his mates doing a bit of MC-ing over the top]. I've never heard the original Major Force version & to be honest, there's no way it could be better than this. Essential.
