Reviews & Discussion: An excellent release by Cajuan. I was impressed by their release 'Dance, Not Dance', but then it was mostly the Digitalism remix that did it. This release however doesn't require a nifty remix for the dancefloor-action. It's all about the A1 track: pure anthem material. I'll probably be mixing this one for months to come, never get tired of it. One of the best produced tracks of 2007 so far..! This Live Large-release by the fresh producers Monoroom is creating quite a fuzz in the underground scene. Especially the Gui Boratto Remix (does anyone actually play the original?). Imagine a minimalist electro set in some dark club, and all of a sudden the extremely well-known melody of 'Cold Water Music' by AIM kicks in. It's a complete change of scenery, people are smiling and remembering the famous trip hop song they all knew when they were young. Gui Boratto did a great job editting and empowering the original sample, after which he changes to a minimalist beat in a sort of breakdown that reminds of the also well-known Mylo remake of 'No More Conversations' by Feeform5. The King Roc remix is extremely well produced, been a steady one in my sets ever since I've got it (don't get tired of it myself and since it's not a well-known track, neither does the crowd).
The Tocadisco remix isn't all that bad either but low in comparison with the King Roc masterpiece. I also really like the bassline, but the way the chorus/break builds up is also magnificent. (I'm a huge fan of the original New Order track as well). I used to mix this track before or after the Trentemoller remix of 'What Else Is There', has similar aspects I believe. Anyhow, party on ;). | ||||
