Up On High - Away - 05-Nov-07 08:31 AM
An interesting release this - the catalogue number for the official release of this track is HOOJ 009, however, the test pressing has HOOJ 001 A and HOOJ 001 B etched into the run-off grooves on either side. Was this originally going to be the first Hooj release and then put on hold?
The label on the vinyl clearly shows that the same tracks were utilised for the final release. A phone number is included too, presumably for the purpose of feedback.

Fruits Of Fresh Funk - Music Of The Phewcha - 18-Oct-03 05:38 PM
"music was my first love and it will be by last, music of the future and music of the past", dating back to 1992, this is one of Choci's earlier works - 'Music of the Phewcha'. The title track comes in two mixes in which Choci himself provides the vocals for the track in an almost spoken like style. The lyrics are of John Miles' ballard 'Music' released in 1976. Choci's vocals likewise lend themselves to the track 'Stormy Weather' on the B side, this time quoting from the Doors. Also on the B side is 'The Guns of Nirvana', a slice of old school rave that samples the riff from Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' coupled with the screams from Wood Allen's 'Airport 89' running over the top. The inner run-off groves have the following messages etched into the vinyl - A: "MONEY TALKS", B: "ADOLF HITLER BURNED FOR SIX HOURS - 1.30-7.30".
Solarstone - Solarcoaster - 18-Jun-03 05:57 AM
The vocal from Solarcoaster has been sampled from Quentin Tarantino's 'True Romance'. The vocal snippet is from the final scene of the movie in which Patricia Arquette's character, 'Alabama' reflects on her life. "I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool."
