Modeselektor - Happy Birthday! - 08-Dec-07 04:14 AM
Incredible CD. This is probably one of the best EDM albums of 2007. Modeselektor is going the opposite way most of the music producers are going these days: they are bringing maximized tracks. With a lot of organic, trashy sounds, great vocals, humour, and some of the best featured artists one could wish for. The various rhythms and drum patterns make every single track a track worth listening to. A must have for every EDM lover out there!
John Dahlback* - 20 - 03-Aug-07 03:27 PM
Incredible minimal-electro tracks. Pumping basslines on both tracks. The cut-up vocal sample in Blink makes this track my favourite of the release. Sting has a massive-crazy melody on the lead though. Must have! Even if only for listening purposes.
Fischerspooner - Never Win - 24-Aug-05 11:07 AM
Probably one of the most ingenious vocals. This track takes "Emerge" to the next level. Deep, straight, dry kickdrum combined with a superbe bassline and... Those vocals! So sweet and yet so not-thirtheen-in-a-dozen lyrics. Perfectly balanced, not too much bass, not too much highs. In a nutshell: future dancefloor killer!
Kelis - Millionaire - 31-Dec-04 05:27 AM
Millionaire is a very good track, very spinnable.. It's really kind of a mix between R and groovy/poppy tunes... BUT... In Public really get's the dancefloor all wet and sweatty, It's just a real 'horny' track.. Even for people who don't really like R sounds, this thing has the bassline pumpin! The more I hear of this record, the better it seems to get! Trick Me (E-Smoove rmx) is just a stunning dancetrack, which is perfectly mixable in a commercial set, as well as in a more underground kind of set! It's got a superb synth (rather cheap, if it would stand alone, but it really puts the E in the E-smoove mix here!) and great kickdrums and hihats which you can mix through most electronic genres with straight 4/4 kicks... Lovely chune! Lovely Vinyl! 4/5
In-N-Out - Tribalized / Eq-Lizer - 27-Nov-04 08:15 AM
Tribalized is good. Nice tribal drums, pretty techno-ish with some Jungle and prog influences, pretty fine track but..
Eq-Lizer has every potential to become one hell of a clubhit! Straight drums and hats but the bassline is just awesome, a classic already. I haven't tried it out on the floor yet but that's coming up. This record is going to be spinned to it's death!
