Profile: Born in Japan, based in Brooklyn, NY, Yellowtail’s sound reflects influences from a wide musical spectrum. Yellowtail broke ground with his debut release “Moa” on Compost Record’s Future Sounds of Jazz 9 followed by remixes for artists such as Soul Bossa Trio and Banda Favela on Irma and Head to Toe Records. In addition, Yellowtail’s “Archipelago” was featured on Irma’s Japan CD release, “Dive Deeper: Irma Japanese sound works from diving point”.
His most recent release comes from NYC's Bagpak Music - CALIFORNIA EP which is now available at dancetracksdigital.com.
His tracks have been also featured on key radio shows such as BBC’s 1XTRA, Nuwave Radio, Offtrack Radio, Broken Beat Radio, Soulpatrol Radioshow, Into Somethin’ Radio, Milkaudio and Beyond Jazz.
Yellowtail plans to tighten up his skills and keep pushing his sound on a global scale. Watch out for upcoming releases from Groovement and Amalgama Records.
