I'm a 17 year old (26/07/1990) boy from Denmark. Currently going in secondary school (that's the english word for it) on my 2nd year.

I live and breathe for music (Trance). I do not produce it, but i listen to it.. a lot. Sometime in the future i might wanna start DJing, but right now i'm just a listener.

I got into Trance around 2005, so i'm still kinda new and i never experienced the 'golden trance era', which is the reason why i'm not into Classics and stuff.

I'm very openminded towards new music, and there's not a recipe for the music i like. I like all kind of EDM, from Uplifing trance to progressive house.

...and a bit Pop-music (random songs on the radio).

I dislike commercial trance, euro house, euro dance, hard dance, hands up!, or what ever you call it - and all sorts of that commercial crap. It ruins the reputation of "real" trance.
Some of it is O.K., but in generel i it's just utter crap.

"Trance has become a dirty word. Thanks to Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, Flip ´N´ Fill and DJ Sammy, a generation of kids has grown up thinking trance is the shittiest music since country and western." - Paul van Dyk

Estiva - Strawberry Fields EP - 30-Jul-08 10:54 AM
Estiva aka Steven Baan continues to amaze with this EP. After his amazing debut EP "Stella" last year i had huge expectations to the follow up. In the meanwhile his collaboration with Marninx entitled "Casa Grande" was featured on Tiësto's highly acclaimed mixcompilation "In Search of Sunrise 7 - Ibiza", another piece of melodic trance with an unique melody only to show what to come.

First up on this EP is "Strawberry Fields". It takes me back to the good old Jonas Steur / Estuera days on Intuition and early Black Hole releases. Perfect for the summer, it is slowly launching a massive synth lead that just builds and builds. Very laidback but at the same time so uplifting.
"Fame" is more in the traditional Estiva style, with a stunning melody in the style of "Stella" on previous EP. Hints of tech-trance is clearly noticable, which makes this track even more fresh. Tech-trance is the keyword in "Fake Snake", a real 'tech monster' not trying to be a copy-cat of the current wave of tech-tunes that sometimes lacks creativity.

The diversity in this release make it very long-lasting. Steven Baan shows he is able to produce beautiful, melodic pieces of trance together with tech-slammers, and they all work out so well. Definately one of my favourite releases this year, not to be missed - and a guy to watch out for!

Scooter - I'm Lonely - 27-Jun-08 03:01 AM
Yet again Scooter has ripped of an old Trance classic. This time they took the melody line from Vincent de Moor's huge classic "Fly Away" and 'cheesified' it.
I wouldn't have a problem with it if Vincent was credited, but he's not! The problem is that all the Scooter fans never realises how many of their songs actually are using samples, because it's never written anywhere.
I have no problem with using samples, but there's a golden rule in music: Credit where credit is due.

Above & Beyond - Home - 29-Jan-08 11:17 AM
"Home" was considering to be the follow-up to the massive "Good For Me".

Both tracks are taken from the critically acclaimed debut album "Tri-State", but were in much more downtempo versions as the whole album. "Home" instantly became the favourite of the album among many fans, which helped to hype the track even more.
Above & Beyond managed, as they did with "Good For Me", to turn it into a more energetic track with a classic Trance feel. This formula also helped "Good For Me" to win the Top 20 in A State of Trance 2006, Above & Beyond winning for the third year in a row!
"Home" even ended up at #3 in the Top 20 in 2007.

The song is written by Hannah Thomas and is about the loss of her boyfriend. A very emotional track which touching vocals from Hannah accompanied by the genius production from Jono, Paavo and Tony.

With this track Above & Beyond yet again proved their production skills, and their ability to produce trance vocals masterpiece as they can produce pure uplifting and bangin' trance (eg. under ther Tranquility Base and OceanLab (with Justine Suissa) aliases. An instant classic!

DJ Porny - Me So Horny (Jumpstyle Edit) - 13-Nov-07 11:51 AM
Another track that is completely useless. It is absolutely empty. A repitive meaningless vocal line, and a eJay-like production. Furthermore this so called "Jumpstyle Edit" has nothing to do with jumpstyle at all.
It follows the same pattern as most Dance productions coming from Germany, Netherlands etc. Apparently there is a scene for this kind of of nonsense music.
My hatred towards this genre (eurodance, commercial trance, harddance etc.) grows bigger and bigger everytime a track like this comes out.

Intuition Recordings (2) - 21-Oct-07 08:45 AM
Intuition is one of my favourite labels. They have managed to keep the quality of their releases on a very high standard. The men in charge Menno de Jong & Paul Moelands (Re:Locate) both have a good ear for the melodic, warm, lush and uplifting Trance that you won't find anywhere else.
They haven't released that many releases, when you consider that they've existed for nearly three years, but i'm sure there's a good reason for that - quality over quanity!
Furthermore they have the honour of having released soon-to-be-classics such as "Castamara", "Escape" & "Arctic Globe".

Truly an label, with such a fantastic back catalogue, to keep an eye out for in the future.
