Absolutely beautiful release.. Had to get used a bit at first but has been growing on me steadily.

Ive heard Nubreeds older mixes and they always seemed just a bit too "song after song" but this one really flows and feels like it has a story to it..

Starts with glitchy spaced out chords and slow breaks but slowly builds up speed and grows a darker and harder. Digital Divine by Toksin is the climax of the mix -- hard driving bass-filled track with vocals bordering cheesy, but done very well nonetheless. After that the mix goes into some really glitchy breaks and gracefully exits.

A great mix to have in your collection, whether you are a breaks fan or not.

Sven Väth - In The Mix: The Sound Of The Fourth Season - 10-Jun-07 08:22 AM
Id go to say this is Svens best (so far) in the Season series. A very diverse release, very forward looking and very consistent. A very mature step from the harder techno of the end of 90s - beginning of 2000s. A few years down the road and it only gets better with age.

Chris Fortier - Balance 007 - 10-May-07 03:49 PM
I dont know, I really tried to understand this CD, given that its a Balance CD, but I still cant. Its just boring, liveless music without much variation in sound or build up. I really like techno, and I really like moody techno, but this compilation just doesnt do it for me.

Sasha And John Digweed* - Northern Exposure 2 - 13-Feb-07 01:38 AM
I would probably say that while NE1 is my favorite Sashas half of the series, whilst this is my favorite Digweed part of the mix. Although Digweeds opening track is not as strong as the rest of the CD2, after it the mix blossoms into a hell of an experience. Sashas half in my opinion is marred by quite a few extremely cheesy tracks, although this could also be the effect of ageing.

Classic release nonetheless, dont let anything stop you from getting a copy.

Luke Slater - Fear And Loathing 2 - 03-Nov-06 01:20 AM
Very interesting mix from Mr. Slater. The first CD is an ambient selection of electro-like stuff with a touch of minimal at the end--and is one of the few combinations in the genre I can actually listen to :). The second CD is an electro/techno mix that does have a few big hits that everyone is playing but manages to have a fairly unique sound. At times too straightforward but very listenable nonetheless. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in broadening their horizons. And kudos to Luke for staying fresh and making quality electronic music.
