referencing Dreams, CD, Album, STS 098

I saw them at the swedish pop-festival Popaganda this spring. I had heard about The Whitest Boy Alive a couple of weeks earlier and I was expecting just some regular guitar-based pop a la Kings of Convenience. But luckily I was wrong. Even though I like KOC a lot with their sweet harmonies and all that, TWBA really blew my mind with their more 'hypnotic' style. It was still kind of regular pop, but more monotone and much more focus on the 'atmosphere' instead of the choruses or the melodies. It was for sure one of the best concerts I've seen this year.

The week after I was so desperate to recreate the feelings I had when I saw TWBA so I bought this album. It was a good album, definately, but honestly, it was nowhere near how they sounded live the week before.

You should really give this cd a chance, it is top guality pop from one of todays pop-maestros Erland Öye. But if you're out of money, and have to choose if you should buy the album and own it for the rest of your life or see them play live for an hour I really think you should choose the second alternative. =)
