'In Pine Effect' is a majestic album . Totally unique & beautiful, I think it's probably U-Ziq's most accessible ,& arguably his best album . It is timeless and will never be irrelevant. Do yourself and your psyche a favour and add this classic to your music collection , I promise you will never regret it .

I feel compelled to comment in order to set a few things straight, in case anyone is misled by discogs4000's review. This album ranks pretty high in µ-Ziq's catalogue for me. The wonderful crunchiness on "Within a Sound", the haunting timbres on "the Wailing Song", the wicked production on "Dauphine" and "Iced Jem". The melodies on "Phiesope" are sublime yet at the same time simple. The only track I'm not huge on is "Mr. Angry" - the yelling does get a bit repetitious.
if you are just beginning to explore the world of µ-Ziq this is a must-hear!

Released as a cd and as a glorious double lp. Dark, strange and all roundly original, most of the tracks stll hold their own, even a decade or so later. In terms of the cover, if anyone knows where to get a pine effect turntable contact us pronto.

I must confess something... this album is terrible. It really pains me to say it too. I was hot on the trail of IDM artists like AFX and Squarepusher and I had so much faith in this release. But when I listened to this I could have swore it was made in the 80's! it sounds so dated it’s unbearable. When I listen to Aphex's SAW I think it's amazing, and although the repetition is there, the rhythm is undeniable. But this album is joke. I can practically hear the samples loop over and over again and guess when each is gonna stop and start. So unoriginal. And to think this guy is great friends with RDJ and passes off tracks and material with him all the time.

When I first listened to this album it was alright and allowed me enough strength to go out and buy Lunatic harness, but soon enough this album just disappeared from my back catalog and it never even plays anymore or ever again. When I listen to Lunatic harness it's hard to believe it's the same man. I feel so strongly against this album because Lunatic Harness is what I believe an essential IDM album up there with Hard Normal Daddy, Amber, and the Richard D. James Album. I just don't understand why and how this is so bad, but it is. Stay Away!
