Somehow, it remains a mystery to me why this record never got a release as a 12 inch in 1979/1980; be it the full 4:45 version or a special disco version of it, be it a promo-only release or an official 12 inch single.
Ballads like "Chiquitita" and "I Have A Dream" exist on official 12 inch singles, but not this outstanding dance track (the fact Madonna used the hook of it for her single "Hung up" shows how good the original composition was).

It could have been a big seller at the time, because "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight)" was not available on an album (it would appear later on a greatest hits package). So to say, a chance missed...
