There is no techno in this music; rather, it is a swirling, lysergic mix of guitar-driven pop and psychedelia. The recording has a nascent, experimental quality that combines well with simple, memorable melodies and sing-song vocals.

Edit: When this review was posted, this album was labeled techno [probably to justify its inclusion in what was then a discography of electronic music specifically]. The album is still a "sounds like no one else" touchstone and is highly recommended for people who like a high degree of invention and originality in their pop music.
