House: Bought this for the Masters at Work remix. Actually I bought it unheard (got a mate to pick it up from Big Brother Records).
I actually never found the original objectionable, beats are good, it's undoubtedly sexy, there's a lot to like. So given the remixer I thought we were in clover. But it's like a bad cut'n'shut, you can absolutely see the joins. Perhaps a fault of product techniques at the time, her perfectly fine vocals just never sound like they belong with the back track. i think the chorus is the worst offender but all the vocals sound too slow. Only when she comes to the end of her input does the track finally blossom. There is a nothing short of sublime menage of exemplary Jazz guitar, beautifully funky beats and beguiling strings. However the rest of the track sounds like a compromise. You can't even use immense outro as it will probably sound out of context. Damn it. [EIGHT]
