THIS is it.
As I relisten to it now am I thrust further into the present as my self of the past is further marooned to the alternate time stream wherein every snare impact has a four-second reverb duration, where the methods of orthodox studio production are insulted and mocked at every turn, the master tape stopped and re-started as the master volume is briefly turned up, nothing is respected, lines are chopped and horcked, and this dynamic duo -wa-ay ahead of the curve- succeed in the making of something that should not be called music and is affiliated as such only because no such classification for what it is yet exists..."studio abuse" is the closest thing I can muster...perhaps this wonderful recording could be likened to a demonstration of what a studio impresario would least like thier facility to be hosted for.
Before the cosmological satire of VONDUR (strangely, a kindred kousin of San Jose's NOOTHGRUSH in their appropriation of all things "STAR WARS") was the scene-killing anti-satire of ABRUPTUM's caustic polemic. Anti-brilliance that defies itself by being, paradoxically, brilliantly light killing is the result ov this duo's TRULY DESTRUCTIV AGENDA. Prediciting the contamination of beloved black metal, they behead the movement as soon as it is able to walk, thereby killing not only music but also its mean of creation.
When the smoke clears, nothing is unbroken, including our spirit.
