This music is not real. I have listened to two different copies of this record religiously and I cannot confirm or deny the existence of Xoul. I'm not even certain what it means to believe that it is real, that this entity is sound and my mind. This mystic trap is a maze in the memory of flesh and mortality, a respite in finity. Alchemy Mastering, MPO, whoever shaped these discs injected their own fates into these black masses to offer lifelike inconsistency to the records, perhaps in imitation of the sheer anomaly of Actress' music.

While the title track and its variations offer some nice autechre-like influences, "Pharoah Moon Rising" clearly reminds of Muslimgauze at his finest. Looking forward for this stuff on album length.

This release functions very well as a whole EP. After the title track's motifs are established, 'Dark Chamber' ups the anxiety, and then 'Xoul Particles' settles into a numbing trance. 'Pharoah Moon Rising' (not 'Pharaoh') breaks the cycle with a dark, minimal groove.

A very enjoyable listen.
