This is a blueprint release on my relationship with The Advent. I’ve always liked all of them but the productions which have been made by my true hero, Mr. G, seem to stand out from the ones that have been made by Cisco Ferreira. That, and the mandatory electro techno song on the release doesn’t impress me that much.
To surprise no one, the definite stand out here is ’Fast Lane’ which has all the trademark sounds of solo Mr. G production. This techno stomper lands in that intriguing landscape of half techno, half house. You know those hi hats, hand claps and bounding base that you have heard before, always used in the most deadliest way. Yes, this should have been or could have been another Mr. G release but you find them under the The Advent moniker.
I don’t have anything against the production of Mr. Ferreira. ’Journeyz’ is a fine piece of his speedy techno. The problem for me is that it really doesn’t stand out from many other similar productions. It’s nice but it’s complimentary. And never really got into that whole elector stuff that was made by The Advent. It’s not bad in any ways, but I can live without it. So look out for those releases that have Mr. G’s productions.
