In August 1982 Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force went to the Notting hill carnival in London England, They performed Planet Rock, This one event was the talk of the event, No one had ever seen or heard anything like it before.
The raw energy/power dance routine took the audiences breath away some people i know still talk about the impact it had on them to this day.
This record and performance gave the general public and England as a whole an incite into the New York Bronx underground music culture that was about to explode across the globe, Just look at the Rap and Hip Hop culture as a whole, This track and others like it helped to spread the word and lay the foundation to the largest musical community we have today called Hip Hop/Rap credit is due to the founding fathers of this brave new world music may never be the same.
