This album exudes an almost palpable atmosphere of utter hopelessness, born from the realisation of an inevitable demise at the hands of a mighty and overwhelming nemesis. The riffs are titanic and claustrophobic, crushingly slow and heavy, like being dragged down to a watery grave in the lonely isolation of the vast and unforgiving ocean. Abandon all hope - this truly is unremittingly funereal Doom of the highest order.

Oh how time flies... I remember this band from early 2000's as I played a few shows with them with my band (My Shameful) at the time. Always very crushing live, although they did have some work to do to keep up with us in terms of heaviness... Oh well, the album, which was their debut sounded so good, the atmosphere, the sounds... it also steered away from the generic funeral doom "format", with a distinctive style of it's own. Very recommendable to those who are sick of all this romantic gothic "doom" like Swallow the Sun etc.

Also... maybe one of the best drummers in Doom Metal... Corny Hammer!

There's not much marbling in the one I got. Just a wisp of white here and there. Its mostly green.
