Why would anyone want to pay way way over the odds for this silly and needless very mono Philips Liberty pressing

when the actual UK Bell release (after Bell acquired Soul City) BELL 1436 is in glorious wide Stereo and just naturally hits the spot.

Many UK Liberty and UA singles were continually and needlessly put out in mono other sufferings:-

Jackie De Shannon What The World Needs Now
" " " The Weight (featuring Barry White on backing vocals)
Bonzo Dog I'm The Urban Spaceman (with spoken intro)

Canned Heat Let's Get Together (even EMI EM 100 7" 12" and the Golden Greats release all 100% mono)
CCR Bad Moon Rising (avoid the Fantasy EMI release its a Duophonic revival!)
CCR Green River

Someone at Liberty and UA in London post 1969 feeding Philips and EMI respectively with MONO masters needed to be taken out into Albermarle St and shot! No excuses and no logical rhyme or reason. And when UA and Liberty united under EMI the mono releasing continued.

Shirley Bassey Something
Louis Armstrong We Have All The Time In The World.

One re-release and wrongly labeled as being "mono" was Bobby Goldsboro Honey on the Cream and Buff UA label.

Maybe had Ron Kass stayed as head man we would have got Stereo UA and Liberty singles. Who knows.

Main point is The Snake in mono is a lost and pointless cause It was recorded in Stereo it was made for stereo and sounds at its best in Stereo. Luckily there are plenty of UK Bell's and USA Soul City's out there.
