Excellent recording backed by both a good studio and a huge backing band compared to the original recording in Venezuela. The mysterious singers seem to do a good job of it for the most part, but fall a little flat with El Catire's high-speed enunciation.

While Aldemaro is not renowned for his lyrical prowess, Sammy Cahn's lyrics surprisingly falter in the face of the smooth thematic flow of the originals - "Still I Love Her" does not fit remotely the same image that "Carretera" ever did.

Where the Aldemaro performances slip, however, the covers shine. "Never Can Say Goodbye" in Onda Nueva style is a true gem, and makes this record worthwhile.
