One of the greatest albums in my collection of thousands of LP's. I purchased this under the misconception that it was Alex Harvey of The "Sensational Alex Harvey Band". I was a great fan of SAHB and when I saw this album in 1974 I was more than a little confused thinking how had this album slipped by me without notice. The cover photo baring a striking resemblance to the the other Alex, the track list showing a story over more than one track (Fanny De Berry) a feature that is on SAHB's early albums.
I took it home, played it and studied the photo yet again, read the cover notes, played it some more and fell in love with it. I was still not sure if it was the same or a different artist, had Alex kept this release secret from his SAHB fans as it was a completely different genre, had it only been released in the USA? Occasionally I would start investigating the situation, reading all the Music Volumes available and even posting the question on the internet when it became a mainstream tool for such things. I even got a reply telling me it was the same artiste.
"To Make My Life Beautiful" was a hit apparently in Germany and it is a beautiful song, If you ever want to impress a lady then send her this song in an email and tell her to listen to the words.
Their is not a duff track on the whole LP, Fanny De Berry being exceptional. I don't care what your taste in music is, after a couple of plays this will be near the top of your playlist for years to come.
