This is one of the last releases of a time when goatrance was still trying to find its limits, just before the israel-infused gms-propelled full-on psytrance killed it off entirely (but not permanently :) ). It has aged very beautifully too and still sounds as unique - yet unmistakably goatrance-like - as it did at first... The only huge downer is the fact that they let a monkey do the production and the mastering of this release. It sounds as if it was recorded while being played in a hangar by a cheap microphone that was placed outside the walls of that hangar... As a result it is almost unusable in dj sets and you have to play it very loud at home to hear everything that is going on... We get a lot of crappy compositions in glitzy production/mastering jackets on the market, but having great compositions ruined like this is much more frustrating.

I do believe that the "FF" could stand for Fluff Factory. Yes I do agree this is what the good techy- fat and spacey psytrance ought to sound like. Alienated put out several 12"s but never a full- length until this. Many on different labels, too. This CD is pretty hard to find now. Many tracks are pretty repetetive but even so, these guys do it so well it doesn't matter- about 3/4 into a track you lose your sense of time and it doesn't matter anymore. Alienated seemed to be the darker side of Orichalcum, which was already pretty dark, but more aggressive. More techy and definetely deeper.

The plastic men are coming! Yes! This is what I like my trance to sound like. From Danish label Creamcrop comes a very interesting - and limited - debut album-release from psy-masters Thomas Larsen and Jeffrey D. Jensen (Orichalcum, etc.). This is a cool mix of different styles, which creates a very unique sound. From full-on mayhem to terror-techno to dance-till-you-drop psy-killers.

This blend of fine tunes of various styles suits my ears, and my bid says that FF stands for "F*cking Fantastic".. Or Fat Fingers?.. Or Fierce Fishtank?. Or perhaps Freaky Fluffers.?! I dunno [Well, actually I do! *Ss*], but what I do know is that there are only 1000 copies pressed of this fine album - so go get this right now if you see it still available somewhere! All tracks are good, but my fav'es are the brilliant opener Balloonies (#1), the overwhelming Fluff Factory (#3), the hectic banging Ejection 2001 Edit (#5) and of course the stomping anthem Last Moon (#8 ). The only flaw I can think of, is that sometimes this tends to get just a little bit too monotonous, but hey - it's Creamcrop so I guess that's what you can expect. Go get your Fat Fingers on this when there's still time! 8.5/10
