Fascinatingly bizarre LP I would have purchased entirely on the randomness of the cover itself. I have no idea what's going on there, or who the cover star is, and totally baffled by the sleeve notes that sort of reinforced my original thoughts, "that's Tony Wilson on the cover!" The Happy Mondays reference makes absolutely no sense (as much I grew up loving them from 'Freaky Dancin' on) and I have since confirmed with friends of the late Factory Records Boss that this definitely is NOT Tony Wilson, but the ears, nose, jacket/white shirt, hair certainly have me thinking that's who this is circa maybe 1983, but those in the know all say no.

The LP itself is just as baffling, and that's a great thing by me. A lengthy piano piece followed by much more abstract noises, melodies, rumblings, clicks and smacks. Recorded over several years with a few tracks previously appearing on some limited cassette I never saw, the tracks work surprisingly well together. Side 2 being quite different than the first and more in resemblance to what you may expect from Damon, but clearly this being much more experimental and stoned. A fascinating release I expect to play again and again. Melchior fans, take note. Pitchfork I expect will take a pass.
